Part one.

We find spaces , in between sheets
that we've found ourselves, tangled before
in something like a half aware
half detained
space.
finding spaces we could dwell
like caves we could crawl through
no lights.
And you took these spaces in me
like water through your hands
made clay
in those spaces
crept through
like unwanted company
like cold in these cracks.
I could never see these cracks
I could never see negative spaces
and you crawl through
this matress
this comfort
and find something so unsuspecting
so wrinkled
like time in clocks that
the batteries have long since stopped working.
and we've forged rivers
when life savers never existed
and many had drown along the way
dead weight was so alive then.
Did we make it to the other side?
Did you make it?
